Local tour and peripheral tour are first choice for National Day holiday
According to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, 422 million domestic tourists travelled during the holiday. It’s a year-on-year decrease of 18.2% which will recover to 60.7% in the same period of 2019 on a comparable basis. As a result, the domestic tourism revenue reached 287.21 billion yuan. It’s a year-on-year decrease of 26.2% and recovered to 44.2% in the same period of 2019.
Due to the epidemic, local tourism and surrounding tourism are still the first choice for the majority of residents. According to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, suburban parks, rural areas around the city and urban parks rank in the top three destinations. And they accounted for 23.8%, 22.6% and 16.8% respectively.
Camping in the Countryside Becomes Hot on National Day holiday
With the trend of surrounding tourism, the camping economy continued to flourish.
Ctrip data shows that during the National Day, the number of camping tourism orders increased by more than 10 times over the same period last year. Among them, local orders accounted for nearly 80% and the number of orders outside the city accounted for 15%. The per capita camping cost is about 650 yuan.
Tourists from Shanghai, Guangdong, Beijing and Zhejiang prefer camping during long holidays, with 46% of the orders from Shanghai. Interestingly, the proportion of parent-child customers exceeds 30%. Among them, 83% of users choose overnight camping products. To everyone, autumn is bright and cool, and the climate is pleasant. So many people consider it the best season mostsuitable for camping. And they choose to taste the countryside and experience autumn harvest in country parks and farm camps.
‘Reverse tourism’ is popular
Many young people flock from big cities to small cities to enjoy the services of high star hotels at low prices. On Qunar , during the National Day, the number of hotel nights booked in ‘cold’ tourist cities increased by more than 30% on a year-on-year basis in 2021. Among them, the number of hotel nights of high star hotels increased significantly with a year-on-year growth of 40%.
Air ticket prices are the lowest in five years
This year’s National Day ticket prices hit the lowest level in the same period in five years. Qunar platform data shows that the average ticket price in the golden week in 2022 is about 650 yuan. That’s 12% lower than that of 2021, 20% lower than that of 2019.
